Samba in the UK

It has been estimated there are over 300 performing Samba bands in the UK.
Music based on samba instrumentation is possibly becoming the largest participatory musical form in Britain.

For an interesting overview read "Samba Groups - A Snapshot", a report commissioned by Pax Nindi of the Arts Council of England Drama Department (April - September 2002) written by Daniel Bernstein in consultation with practitioners in the art form.
